First Nations, Métis, and Inuit (FNMI) Studies Part 2 AQ course builds on Part 1 by focusing on critical reflection to reframe current practices, designing learning, and facilitating discussions to implement change, integrating FNMI histories, ways of knowing, and current issues into the curriculum to support truth and reconciliation, with a focus on applying knowledge and skills in the design and implementation of learning opportunities. Candidates explore the ongoing impacts of colonialism and develop strategies for teaching and supporting Indigenous and non-Indigenous students holistically, applying and extending this learning in their practice.

To register, candidates must have the corresponding Part 1 AQ listed on their OCT Certificate of Qualification and Registration.

Additionally, candidates require a minimum of 194 days (one year) of successful classroom teaching experience, verified by a Supervisory Officer/Official. A completed Statement of Successful Teaching Experience needs to be submitted to aq-admin@osstf.ca at the time of course registration.
