As a careers education teacher as well as a relatively experienced guidance counsellor, this course will encourage you to further explore key legislation and policies that influence your role and the decisions you make in your daily practice. You will develop a better understanding of the importance of communication and collaboration with key stakeholders in order to support the overall well-being of the student. As a guidance counsellor as well as a careers educator, you will continue to build on key mental health strategies and concepts and delve further into pathways and transition opportunities for all students. This course will ensure that educators, practitioners, and future leaders continue to build a solid foundation while incorporating equity frameworks to support all students.

To register, candidates must have the corresponding Part 1 AQ listed on their OCT Certificate of Qualification and Registration.

Additionally, candidates require a minimum of 194 days (one year) of successful classroom teaching experience, verified by a Supervisory Officer/Official. A completed Statement of Successful Teaching Experience needs to be submitted to aq-admin@osstf.ca at the time of course registration.
