Special Education Part 1
This course is designed for educators dedicated to fostering inclusive, equitable, and responsive learning environments. Candidates will develop a strong foundation in special education and acquire strategies to support diverse learnings through Universal Design for Learning (UDL), Individual Education Plans (IEPs), differentiated instruction, and assistive technology – all applied through an anti-oppressive, equity focused lens. The course emphasizes the integration of Indigenous perspective, and research-informed instructional practices, while developing a strong understanding of ethical, legal, and policy frameworks that shape Special Education in Ontario.
